(Please note: The services in June and July will be at the regular time of 10:30 am. The August services will be in the evening at 7 pm).

We are talking about communication, talking about language… not the same thing.                                      It’s about inspiration… (Professor Maggie Walsh, Buffy the Vampire Slayer 4.10)

A community in dialogue can be a powerful thing.  At their best, words are not just vessels used to transport abstract ideas; words themselves have power.  We have all felt the power of those wounding words, words that have hissed and snarled at us, or worse. We have felt the power of words to caress and inspire us.  And we remember those conversations and ideas that changed our lives, changed our paradigms.  A community in dialogue can help us continually rediscover ourselves and each other (and there will always be surprises).  Dialogue – hearing and listening to each other (not the same thing) can help us access and change our attitudes, beliefs, biases and actions/inactions.  It is in those moments that the magic happens, that culture happens, that we can grasp again that we are evolving as people and as a community.  It is in those moments that inspiration happens.

Over the past couple of years we have had community dialogue around some very big ideas and some very complex issues.  Through a combination of video, inter-active activities, dialogue and personal and communal reflection, we are going to revisit some of those conversations over the summer months.
